Suspect Arrested In Connection With Long Beach Fatal Shooting
LONG BEACH (CBS) — A man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Long Beach was arrested in Cleveland after allegedly trying to evade paying a transit fare, police said Wednesday.
Mark Thurwachter was suspected of fatally shooting 60-year-old neighbor Marvin Williams during a confrontation at around 6:40 p.m. on February 1, in the 200 block of East Arbor Street.
Thurwachter, 56, was arrested on March 28, during a fare evasion investigation conducted by the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority.
He was awaiting extradition back to Long Beach.
