Lack Of Customer Interest Forces Burbank Airport To Scrap VIP Parking Plan

BURBANK (CBS) — A luxury valet parking service at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank has been eliminated due to a lack of demand.

Not one customer signed up for the $14,600 "Black Diamond" parking option at the airport, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The plan offered shorter wait times and extra-wide, covered parking spaces on reserve.

Standard Parking discontinued the service when it assumed management operations at the airport in February.

Other premium options including the $31-per-day Platinum valet service have also suffered from a lack of customers.

Parking revenue at the airport has been steadily declining for several months, the Times reported.
