Caught On Camera: Masked Man Robs Palmdale Gas Station

PALMDALE (CBS) — Sheriff's detectives are looking for help to find the masked man who robbed a Palmdale gas station convenience store Monday night.

Authorities say the mini mart of a gas station near the intersection of 10th Street West and Palmdale Boulevard was robbed by a black man in a ski mask, gray hoodie and shorts, sheriff's Detective Hoyt said.

The robber approached a clerk behind the register and demanded she open it and empty its contents into the backpack he was holding. The clerk obeyed the robber's orders, and was forced outside the store and into the store's stock room. There, the suspect ordered the clerk and another employee who was in the stock room onto the floor and demanded their wallets.

The robber then brought the store clerk back into the mini mart, pausing to rummage through the register a second time before fleeing on foot.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a 20- to 30-year-old black man, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was described as being muscular and wore a gray hoodie and gray sweat shorts with black stripes.

Anyone with information about this robbery can call Hoyt at (661) 272-2473.
