LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries called it quits after just 72 days of marriage last year, but we’re just now learning what happened to their wedding gifts.

Pick-A-Side: Who’s Your Least Favorite Kardashian?

It appears Kardashian kept all of the couple’s goods, but recently decided to donate double the value of what they received to charity.

“I would like to thank you for your generous and thoughtful wedding gift,” Kardashian writes in a letter obtained by TMZ. “It has taken me some time to pull everything together but I wanted to let you know that the money for every gift received by me at my wedding has been donated to the Dream Foundation; an organization that I am very passionate about. Thank you for your love and support.”

The Dream Foundation issued the following statement:

“With gratitude in our hearts, we share with you that Kim Kardashian has made a donation to Dream Foundation in honor of your generous wedding gift. Kim felt that this was the most fitting way to acknowledge and pay forward your gift with the same compassion and kindness it was intended. Through this contribution, Dream Foundation will be able to support an individual facing terminal illness with a final wish – allowing relief, joy and comfort at the end of life’s journey. Your gift has become a gift to this organization and the families we serve. And we are grateful. “

It wasn’t hers to begin with

Hmm, the Kardashian empire, built solely out of greed, suddenly becomes charitable?
I am trying to determine which is the more shallow and meaningless statement: When a person convicted of a brutal, premeditated crime expresses remorse on the way to jail or the Kardashians thinking up this donation as way to prevent one crumb from falling off the empire cake(?)
I thought men suffered a setback this week with the Rush Limbaugh ego-trip. Now women are stuck with this. Troubled times, indeed.

Probably did it for the tax write off

I am certain that they are making money on both ends. Don’t be fooled. their charity starts at their doorsteps in Hidden Hills!!!
