Ventura Police Investigate 3rd Drug Overdose Death In 2 Days

VENTURA (CBS) — Ventura Police are investigating the third death in two days related to overdoses of opiate drugs combined with alcohol, according to authorities.

The victims ranged from 22-34 years of age. All were males and all had drug arrest histories, according to the police.

In two of the deaths, police said they found syringes and hypodermic needles.

The police feels it is necessary in this rash of deaths to remind the public of the dangers associated with mixing drugs and casual and recreational opiate use.

Authorities asked anyone with knowledge in these deaths to contact the Ventura Police Department at their narcotics hotline, (805) 339-4331.
