2 Men Sought After Attempted Abduction In San Juan Capistrano
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (CBS) — Authorities say two men tried to abduct a 13-year-old boy Wednesday in San Juan Capistrano as he walked home from school.
The boy was walking near Edgewood and Village roads about 4 p.m. Tuesday when a car pulled up alongside him and blocked his way, Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.
"The male driver got out, smiled at the 13-year-old and waved to him to get into the car," Amormino said. "The boy did all the right things. He turned around and ran in the opposite direction to a friend's house and called his uncle, who went to the location, but the suspects had fled."
The car was an older model, two-door black sedan with a tan interior, he said.
The man who got out of the car was described as Latino, about 37 to 40 years old with a medium build, medium complexion and salt-and-pepper hair. He wore a white T-shirt and a black baseball cap with a white rim.
His passenger was also Latino, about 30-35 years old and wearing a black T-shirt.
