Businesses That Treat You To Deals On Your Birthday

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — One special day a year, companies and restaurants all over want to lavish you with free stuff.

CBS2's Sibila Vargas shows which local businesses offer deep discounts or freebies for those celebrating their birthday.

Here's a list of some of the best birthday freebies out there.

Talia Goldstein, of West L.A., is a regular at Revolution Fitness in Santa Monica and cashed in on a steamy freebie.

"When you register online or at the front desk, everybody gives us their birthday and we will send you an e-mail telling you that you will get a birthday spin," according to Stephanie Moore, the owner of Revolution Fitness.

The spin class is a $19 value that you must use on the day of your birthday.

If you register your e-mail at "Nothing Bundt Cakes" in Santa Monica the business will mail you a free coupon for one "bundt-let" - and $4.50 value. The offer is only available at their Santa Monica location. There are 10 different flavors to choose from. Talia indulged in the chocolate-chocolate chip individual-sized bundt-let.

"I highly recommend taking the day off for your birthday. This has been so much fun so far and I still have half a day ahead of me," Goldstein said.

Sechior Blow Out Bar in Santa Monica will give those celebrating their birthday a free rejuvenating mini scalp treatment -- a $10 value. No need to register your e-mail, all you have to do is make an appointment.

Goldstein took the salon up on their scalp treatment and then cashed in on a free lunch.

The Veggie Grill knows how to celebrate its valued customers. Register online and bring in your coupon to choose any entree from their menu. It's a $10 value -- which comes out to a meal and a drink.

"I got the portobello wrap and sweet potato fries," Goldstein said.

The birthday girl's day didn't end there.

"So I come to Nail Garden all the time to get manicures and they're $17 but, today, I got 10 percent off so it comes out to be around $15.30," Goldstein said.

"I'm always hesitant to give my e-mail address but today I think it was totally worth it. I got all this free stuff for just giving them my e-mail."

Goldstein wrapped her birthday up with five of her favorite freebies and recommends others take advantage of the birthday perks out there: "Don't worry about being cheap. It's your birthday and you might as well take advantage of these offers around town."
