Iraq War Veteran, 23, Pleads Not Guilty In 6 Murders

SANTA ANA (CBS) — Iraq war veteran Itzcotal "Izzy" Ocampo, 23, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to six murder charges.

Authorities say Ocampo killed four homeless men in Orange County between December and January.

Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas calls him "a monster" for allegedly stabbing each of the four victims at least a dozen times with a seven-inch KA-BAR knife made of heavy metal.

He has also been charged with the Oct. 25 stabbings of Raquel Estrada, 53, and her 34-year-old son, Juan Herrea, at their home in Yorba Linda.

If convicted, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Ocampo is being held without bail.
