2 On ATV Critically Hurt After Crashing Into Parked Car

INDIO (CBS) — Two people riding on an all-terrain vehicle in Indio were critically injured after apparently crashing into a parked car.

The accident on Monroe Street, north of Avenue 40 was reported at 6:51 p.m. Saturday on Monroe Street north of Avenue 40, said Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Cheri Patterson.

According to Patterson, two other people suffered minor to moderate injuries.

It was not clear if they were in the car or near it.

Patterson said the quad riders weren't wearing protective gear at the time.

No other information was immediately available.
