2 Small Brush Fires Reported In San Bernardino County

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY (CBS) — Two small brush fires have been reported near each other in San Bernardino, according to authorities.

The fires -- both about 2 acres combined -- are located behind California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB).

No homes or structures are threatened.

Winds upwards of 40 mph hampered firefighter efforts.

No injuries have been reported.

Rachel Kim, reporting from the area known as Devil's Canyon for CBS2 and KCAL9, said the fire was contained within several hours.

Firefighter Bob Poole told Kim that firefighters were able to get a lot of equipment at the fire quickly "so it wasn't as terrible as it could have been."
