Alleged Sexual Predator On The Loose At UCLA Campus

WESTWOOD (CBS) — Police Friday were investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred on the UCLA campus.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. police say a male suspect called out to a female student climbing the steps of the area known as Saxon Trail. After a brief conversation, the man allegedly pulled the woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The victim was able to escape without injury.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6 feet tall and 150 pounds, approximately 21 years old with short brown hair and blue eyes.

Campus police issued a crime alert and safety warning to students Friday.

"It's actually kind of scary," said one female student. "Because you think about this trail and how popular it is."

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact UCLA campus police at (310) 825-1491.

Police urge students to avoid walking alone when possible, and to utilize escort services available on campus.
