Man Taken Into Custody After Woman Found Dead In Simi Valley
SIMI VALLEY (CBS) — A family fight in Simi Valley Wednesday night ended with a woman dead and a person of interest in police custody.
Police responded to a call for a domestic disturbance at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived at the location, they found a woman dead inside the home.
Police then launched a manhunt throughout the neighborhood.
An officer spotted a man driving a blue Honda, who matched the description of the suspect in the homicide.
The man was taken into custody and is being called a person of interest.
The apprehension was caught on tape by KCAL9 News.
The incident created a stir in an otherwise quiet neighborhood.
"I couldn't feel my heart. I was just like, "what did you get me into,'" said neighbor Britney Bergstrom.
Police would not say whether or not they believed that the murder was related to domestic violence.
