Harry Burkhart's Mother Due Back In Court Feb. 7

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A judge Wednesday set a Feb. 7 bail hearing date for the mother of arson suspect Harry Burkhart.

Dorothee Burkhart, 53, is facing extradition back to Germany, where she has been charged with 19 counts of fraud.

She is accused of cheating renters out of security deposits there and failing to pay for breast augmentation surgery.

US officials are waiting on Germany to file the proper paperwork to extradite Burkhart. The papers must be filed by Feb. 6 or she could be freed, KNX 1070's Ed Mertz reports.

Her 24-year-old son pleaded not guilty Tuesday to 100 counts of arson for allegedly setting more than 50 fires to cars, garages and carports in Hollywood, West Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley over New Year's weekend.

The fires caused millions of dollars in property damage, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Harry Burkhart's bail was raised to $7.5 million Tuesday.
