LA Man Wins $1M In Lottery Scratcher
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Los Angeles man won $1 million with a California Lottery $10 Scratchers ticket, lottery officials announced Friday.
The winner, identified only as Jose H., is the 21st winner in the $250 Million Cash Spectacular game.
The winning ticket was one of two that the man bought on his lunch break Thursday. After Jose H. learned he had a winning ticket, he said he went back to work but -- surprise, surprise -- couldn't concentrate on his job.
"I ended up telling my manager what happened and he let me go home for the day," he said, adding that he is thinking about going back to school to pursue a career in the healthcare industry.
The winning ticket was bought at Lorena Market, 3360 E. Olympic Blvd.
The Los Angeles retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
