Free Tax Preparation Available For Some Southland Residents

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — California State Controller John Chiang says free tax preparation will be available for families and individuals with household incomes of $50,000 a year or less.

The assistance will be available at several locations across the Southland through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.

Chiang will also be running a VITA site in his Los Angeles office from Jan. 18 through April 16.

Help will be available in multiple languages (by appointment only) at the following location:

Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Community organizations are also partnering with the Controller's office to offer free help on the following dates:
