Fans Offer Up Kidney, Medical Services For Tickets To Sold-Out Coachella
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Tickets have sold out for both weekends of this year's annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, leaving some fans to take desperate measures.
The festival will be held over two weekends for the first time, on April 13-15 and April 20-22. The lineup includes headliners Radiohead, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and the Black Keys.
Tickets, which ranged from the $285 general admission passes to the $665 VIP tickets, sold out in less than three hours, according to concert organizer Goldenvoice.
According to LAist.com, desperate fans have taken to Craigslist to offer their most prized possessions, either to sell or to trade for tickets. One poster offered 2 ounces of premium marijuana in exchange for a general admission tickets, while another asked $950 or better for a "barely played Les Paul Studio."
Another fan offered his good kidney, while another offered to trade his medical services:

I am a board-certified primary care MD in the Manhattan Beach and West LA area, and an avid music fan. I will trade Medical Care Services for Coachella weekend 1 and/or weekend 2 GA passes and car camping passes.
Lemme know what you need, and lets see if we can strike up a deal. As you know, medical care is UNGODLY expensive, so so this could be HUGELY in your favor, financially.

Ryan Carter, who offered up his kidney said he was still waiting for a response to his ad.
"Can't miss this year....It's a damn good kidney," Carter wrote in an email.
Laura Conley, who offered up her medical services for tickets, said someone did contact her but she was unable to help him, since he needs a CT scan. Radiology is not something she has control over, billing-wise, she said.
"I was hoping for a couple of easies, like urinary tract infections or anxiety or something I can manage myself in the office. And just not bill anything for it," Conley wrote in an email. "This is my first year in 5 consecutive years of going to Coachella, that I haven't gotten a ticket. I'm pretty bummed. Desperate times call for desperate measures..."
