Second Teen Arrested In Circle K Robbery Attack

GARDEN GROVE (CBS) — A second teen suspected of stealing beer from a convenience store, before attacking the clerk and a fellow customer was arrested today.

The 17-year-old boy was arrested at his school in Westminster. The youth's name was withheld because of his age, as was the name of his 16-year-old partner, who surrendered Monday, Garden Grove police Lt. Jeff Nightengale said.

The crimes occurred Dec. 28 about 11 p.m. at a Circle K store near Knott Street and Lampson Avenue

On Thursday, police released video of the ruckus.

One of the boys picked up a case of beer and brought it to the counter. When the clerk appeared to ask for identification, another youth attacked the clerk, Nightengale said.

A customer is seen on video trying to stop the attack before being attacked by the two suspects.

Lt. Nightengale said Thursday police were looking for the Good Samaritan customer, who left before police arrived at the scene, to recognize his effort to help the clerk.
