'Faux Hawk' Suspect Wanted In Alleged Sexual Assault Of La Puente Teen, 14

LA PUENTE (CBS) — Authorities on Monday released a composite sketch of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in La Puente.

The crime occurred on the evening of Jan. 2 at the victim's apartment complex in the 17000 block of Main Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect is described as being of Hispanic of Guatemalan descent,  between 18 and 22 years old, 5'5" to 5'7" tall, and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds.

He was clean-shaven and wore his hair in a "faux hawk," a style similar to a crew cut with a plume of hair on top.

According to the sheriff's department, the teen was approached that night by the man, whom she recognized as being at the apartment complex visiting former co-workers.

The man began talking to the girl, and accompanied her as she walked to the trash bin area, where he pulled her behind a wall and sexually assaulted her, then ran off.
