Several Seriously Hurt In Sepulveda Pass Head-On Crash

SEPULVEDA PASS (CBS) — Four people suffered critical to serious injuries in a head-on collision in the Sepulveda Pass.

The violent crash on Sepulveda Boulevard happened between Mulholland and Getty Center Drive during rush-hour traffic Friday evening.

Investigators say a black Infiniti G35 was traveling southbound off of Sepulveda, south of Skirball when it somehow lost control.

A gold-colored Honda Civic going northbound slammed into the Infiniti on the passenger's side.

Two other cars -- a white Honda CRV and a black Mercedes -- collided while trying to avoid the accident.

In all, four people were taken to area hospitals for evaluation and medical treatment.

The stretch of Sepulveda Boulevard is expected to remain closed as construction along the 405 Freeway continues this weekend.
