Female Patient Accuses Montebello Doctor Of Molestation

MONTEBELLO (CBS) — A Montebello doctor is out on bail Thursday after a female patient accused him of molesting her during a medical appointment.

KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reports now police are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have on Dr. Arturo Vargas.

Vargas, 41, surrendered to investigators after a woman filed a criminal complaint alleging that she was molested when she went to his medical offices located a Kaiser Permanente medical center at 1550 Town Center Drive.

He was booked on three charges including sexual exploitation by a physician and battery by fraud.

Vargas has been released after posting $200,000 bail, but he has been removed from any contact with patients at Kaiser.

A news conference was set for noon on Thursday where police are expected to ask any potential victims of Dr. Vargas to come forward.
