British Scientists Name Hairy Crabs After David Hasselhoff

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — British scientists have named a newly discovered species of crab after actor David Hasselhoff.

The crab, which can be found in a deep sea vent in the Antarctic, has a hairy chest like former "Baywatch" star.

It's being called "The Hoff" for now, but scientists will also give it a more scientific name.

The animals' hair-like follicles are thought to trap bacteria, which they eat.
