Baby Born At Downtown Hospital Among First Of 2012
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The New Year has arrived with a harvest of hospitals claiming first babies.
The unofficial Los Angeles County champ may be an 8-pound, 1-ounce baby boy born to a Mr. and Mrs. Gutierriez at the California Hospital Medical Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Baby Gutierriez was born at 12:03 a.m. at the hospital at 1401 S. Grand Street.
About 13 minutes later, two newborns at separate Kaiser Permanente Hospitals were born.
Jordan Godinez Jimenez, weighing in at 7-pounds, 6-ounces, was delivered at a hospital in Downey.
And Aldo Lopez came into the world at just 4-pounds, 15-ounces, at Kaiser's Panorama City Medical Center in the San Fernando Valley, said Kaiser's Socorro Serrano.
In the San Gabriel Valley, the first baby delivered at a Kaiser was Daniel Christopher Turrey.
Turrey was born at 12:19 a.m. at the Baldwin Park Medical Center.
He weighed in as the heavyweight of the morning at 9-pounds, 3.9-ounces, Serrano added.
