1 Arrested Following Officer-Involved Shooting In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — One man was arrested Friday following a non-injury officer-involved shooting in South Los Angeles.

Shots were fired shortly after 9 a.m., prompting officers to set up a perimeter between 103rd and 109th streets from Figueroa to Broadway.

It was unclear if the suspect intended to fire at police, but no one was injured.

"The incident occurred in an area policed by our Southeast Division but it involves an OIS by detectives from 77th Street Division," said LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera.

The search also prompted the shut down of all north and southbound on and offramps on the Harbor (110) Freeway between 103rd and 109th streets.
