Chanukah Celebrations To Be Held Throughout The Southland

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Millions of Angelenos are celebrating Chanukah, which begins at sundown Tuesday.

Jews celebrate the holiday by lighting candles on the menorah, which commemorates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, from which the Syrians were chased out in second century B.C.

Tradition says a candelabra miraculously burned for eight days with only one day's worth of oil.
