Homicide Detectives Investigate Inmate's Death At Men's Central Jail

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  An inmate was found dead Friday in a cell at the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles, and sheriff's homicide detectives set out to investigate.

The death was reported at 12:58 p.m. at the facility located at 441 Bauchet St., Deputy Pete Gomez of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.

The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, Gomez said.

The Associated Press reported that the deceased was in custody for allegedly committing a murder.
