LA, OC Gasoline Prices Fall For 25th Straight Day

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell Monday for the 25th consecutive day, dropping to $3.65, the lowest amount since Feb. 24.

The average price is 7.2 cents less than one week ago and 22.1 cents lower than a month ago, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped 21.8 cents over the past 25 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Sunday.

The Orange County average price also fell Monday for the 25th consecutive day, dropping to $3.62. The average price is 6.8 cents less than one week ago and 22.3 cents lower than a month ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped 22.1 cents over the past 25 days, including 1 cent on Sunday.

The decreasing prices are the result of lower demand, which is typical for the fall, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
