On Monday, Remigio allegedly plotted with Robert Rodriguez, 19, to kidnap her roommate, Norma N.'s, newborn daughter. The next day, she reportedly picked up Rodriguez and 20-year-old Steven Quirino and drove to the home she shared with Norma where they robbed her with a fake gun, officials said.

Remigio, Rodriguez and Quirino are accused to taking the baby after they ordered Norma into a bedroom. The two men then fled the scene. Norma was able to take her baby back from Remigio before she left the house, investigators said.

Officials did not release a motive behind the attempted kidnapping.

Rodriguez and Quirino, both of Santa Ana, are charged with one felony count each of conspiracy to commit a crime, first degree residential robbery, first degree residential burglary, and street terrorism, with a sentencing enhancement for criminal street gang activity. They will also be arraigned Friday.

Remigio will be tried as an adult, according to the Orange County District Attorney. If convicted on all charges, she faces life in state prison.
