Supper Club Show "For the Record: John Hughes (Holiday Road)"

Kick off your holiday season and enjoy a special performance in a truly unique venue at "For the Record: John Hughes (Holiday Road)."

If you're looking for a fun and exciting night of entertainment this holiday season, be sure to check-out "For the Record: John Hughes (Holiday Road)" at the Show at Barre in Los Feliz. The intimate venue showcases signature songs and scenes from John Hughes' classics, such as The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Hughes' holiday favorites Home Alone, Christmas Vacation and Planes, Trains & Automobiles. This is one of the best shows I've ever seen and is a movie lover's dream – you get to experience favorite scenes from Hughes' films and popular songs from the soundtracks, recreated by a very talented cast, whose acting and singing is top-notch.

The high-energy, fast-paced show was created and directed by Shane Scheel and Christopher Lloyd Bratten, who wanted to create a unique experience of combining a night of musical entertainment with great food and drinks. Scheel says, "Supper clubs used to be all over LA. One stop dining, entertainment and celebration stops. Our goal was to create something for TODAY's audience, something very accessible and completely interactive – a chance to go inside the movies."

Although space is tight in this modern day supper club, it's used creatively with performers popping up in all sorts of places, just inches away from the audience and pulling in some of them to participate in the show. Anticipation and surprise are all part of the fun of guessing where the actors will be next – dancing on the bar, rockin' out with the musicians or taking center stage for a quiet solo. In addition to performing their roles, the cast takes on "decking the halls." By the end of the evening, the entire venue is decked out in Christmas decorations and you can't help but get into the holiday spirit.

"For the Record: John Hughes (Holiday Road)" stars a talented group of performers from Broadway, film and television, including two of CBS's very own actors: Barrett Foa (CBS's "NCIS:LA") and Kristolyn Lloyd (CBS's "The Bold and the Beautiful"). The rest of the rotating cast includes Anneliese van der Pol (ABC's "That's So Raven"), Jackie Tohn (Bravo's "Platinum Hit"), Von Smith (Fox's "American Idol"), Arielle Jacobs (Broadway's In The Heights), James Snyder (Broadway's Cry Baby), Anderson Davis (Broadway's South Pacific, Les Miserables), Jackie Seiden (Broadway's Hairspray), Rogelio Douglas Jr. (Broadway's In The Heights, The Little Mermaid), Jessica Keenan Wynn (Hairspray at the Hollywood Bowl), Darryl Semira (Broadway's Mamma Mia), Steve Mazurek, Dionne Gipson, Melissa Mitchell, Daniel LeClaire, Brenna Whitaker, Danielle Truitt and Stevie Mackey.

John Hughes fans will especially love this celebration of nostalgic hit songs and are invited to sing along with the cast, to such fan favorites as "Holiday Road," "Christmas Vacation," "Mele Kalikimaka," "Don't You (Forget About Me)," "I'm So Excited," "Danke Schoen," and "Twist and Shout."

The Holiday Road show is a perfect date night or night out with friends. We suggest you arrive early (around 7:30p.m.) to secure a good seat (first come, first serve) and enjoy dinner and drinks before the show. The food is excellent at the Barre and patrons can continue eating and drinking during and after the show. Tip for vegetarians – order the quinoa and veggie burger – you'll love the food and you'll love the show even more.

"For The Record: John Hughes (Holiday Road)" runs through Friday, December 30 with weekly performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 9 p.m. and Wednesday and Sunday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 and may be purchased online at www.showatbarre.com.
