4 In Custody Following Drive-By Shooting In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Los Angeles police responding to a shooting in South Los Angeles Sunday chased and detained four suspects.

Officers responded to a report of a drive-by shooting at a residence near 93rd Street and Clovis Avenue in which one person was struck. The call came in about 3:45 a.m., police reported.

Upon arrival, gunfire was exchanged between the officers and four suspects, one of which was hit.

According to police, that suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment and has since been released.

All four suspects were taken into custody following a vehicle and foot pursuit, police said.

No officers were injured.

The victim of the initial "shots fired" call was reportedly hospitalized with stable vital signs, said Lt. John Tippet of the Southeast Station.
