PORTER RANCH (CBS) — Authorities are looking for a woman who used pepper spray on shoppers at a Walmart store in Porter Ranch Thursday night.

Cell phone video obtained by CBS2 shows the chaos that ensued after the disgruntled shopper shot pepper spray at 20 people.

The victims, who mostly complained of stinging in their eyes, were treated at the scene.

Shopper Juan Castro says the woman started attacking other shoppers when an XBOX display was unveiled shortly after 10 p.m.

“Just as they started to unwrap everything, all hell broke loose and everybody just swarmed. And in the middle of the parade, some lady just started (pepper spraying) the crowd,” he said. “There were two ladies on the side of me that started fighting. As I was walking by another section, there was this poor girl walking by with a Wii system, the box all torn up.”

He said customers were “just trampling over people, people shoving each other. There were a lot people who got it in their eyes, so they were burning. They were screaming, crying. It was bad.”

Walmart told CBS2 that they felt they had more than adequate security and proper procedures in place.

They released a statement saying, “It was an unfortunate situation but we’re glad everyone is okay. We are working with law enforcement to provide security video and information.”

Police are looking at surveillance video, as well as Castro’s cell phone video, to see if they can identify the woman.

They think the woman, pictured to the right, fits other shoppers’ description of the suspect. The woman was described as Latina, 5-feet-4-inches tall, 36-38 years old and approximately 140 pounds.

Anyone with information about the woman’s whereabouts was asked to contact the LAPD.

Shoppers who came to Walmart later that day were shocked to hear about the incident.

“She’s as crazy as those policemen who pepper-sprayed all those students,” said an elder woman, referring to a police officer who sprayed Occupy protesters on the UC Davis campus earlier this week.

Another woman said, “It’s just disappointing — but I’m glad we weren’t here because I’d have to kick some butt if that happened to me!”

I have no sympathy for these morons that got peppered sprayed. Why would you wait in line for hours at Wal-mart? The other 364 days a year aren’t enough to purchase cheap junk made in China. Also on any other day of the week take a long hard look at the brain dead knuckle draggers that regular shop at Wal-Mart, so just envision the low-life’s you’ll encounter on Black Friday.

We have descended into an animalistic, pagan society. No morals, no self-discipline, no respect for our common man. And this is what you see when the matrix is still in-tact!!! Just wait until Sierra…Hotel…Tango…Foxtrot. Then things will start to get REAL un-civil.

Hornman4u: I totally concur. These people are mindless animals pushing and shoving each other for X-box games. Now replace the X-box game with food, water, and fuel, which would be in scarcity after an earthquake. It would be like New Orleans after Katrina X100. And the morons in this video are the same ones that would never plan ahead for an emergency and mistakenly believe that the government will take care of them, again just like Katrina.

    2. Airomee says:

I agree with you totally. Who would ever want to even associate with these mindless animals.

I shopped at the Walmart at the Cerritos Town Square. It was really nice not like best buy… They had 250 of the 32″ $188 TV Best buy carries 10 of their sale items. It was really calm, people were really nice and helping each other. It was a good experience this was the first year I was healthy enough to go. I was able to get much better things for my children and grandchildren than I could usually afford. I was going to buy my daughters 1 bike to share but I got 2 for less than 1 would normally cost and we got the 32″ TV for much less than we paid for the 19″ we have.

For the first time in over 20 years I risked the mobs and went to the early shopping sales last night/this morning. At one of the Walmarts in Palmdale there were swarns of people who overall were friedly, polite and helpful with each other. The stoe had more then enough security and employees who kept things moving. I had all of my 10pm sale items and was out of the parking lot by 11:15. Went from there to Macys for the mignight opening and it was the same way there. From there it was Kohls and with the checkout lines circling the store, people were talking, laughing. It was nice to see no one getting impatient or nasty. Although I won’t do it again, I have to admit it was much less of a problem then I see being reported in other areas.

Why I don’t go to Wal-Mart? Wal -Mart is the lowlife department store. I’d rather shop in a more high class department store, with more civilized people.

    1. Greg Nelson says:

that seems too have become the problem.

Where is that woman that pepper sprayed other customers? I come from Long Island, NY. In 2008, on Long Island, NY, on Black Friday, a Walmart worker died after an “out of control” mob of shoppers smashed through the front door and trampled the Walmart worker to death. You would think that Walmart would have extra security on Black Friday. Black Friday is becoming too crazy. I hope when they get this woman who pepper sprayed other people they make an example of her by putting her in jail and a very big fine.

I personally, believe that all four suspect should been held for mental evaluation if nothing else, However, this is the fourth time in recent months there has been a violent attack in a Walmart in LA., I on July 1, 2011; was beaten by a Kung-Fu person and an ex-Walmart associate, known braggar of violence, who was seen and known too Walmart as a troublemaker who ran but again they knew who he was and that he was not supposed too have been on their property but no one would or could stop him. He should have been arrested and held for mental eval as well. I have known disabillities on August 2011; police went too a Walmart store too deal with someone making threats with a knife shoot fired. On November 3, 2011; 74 year old David Oakleaf beaten too death with a baseball and on Black Friday 2011; a woman sprayed up all the shoppers with mace or pepper spray. I was advised after my attack that security would be much improved for this holiday and then this. However, I am concerned if their security is being mainly trained in theft prevention and little concern for the safety of the shoppers. Because, its beyind me how this woman could spray innocent shopper and escape security and get away . I would have more compassion if this violence was occurring in more retail stores than just Walmarts
