Long Beach State Upsets #9 Pitt

PITTSBURGH (CBS) -- After 58 consecutive non-conference victories at home, the Pittsburgh Panthers have been defeated by Long Beach State, 86-76.

Long Beach State dominated in transition and in the paint, they were led by Drew League sensation, Casper Ware, the Cerritos native scored 28 points, while James Ennis added 19 for the 2-0 49ers.

Long Beach State who played North Carolina tough last season, finally broke through with their first top-10 win since they toppled the Kansas Jayhawks in January of 1993, they had lost 20-straight games to ranked opponents.

The 49ers will get a chance to prove this game wasn't a fluke, they play games against San Diego State, Louisville, Kansas, North Carolina and Xavier all before conference play begins.
