'Occupy LA' Protesters Unfazed By Riverside Arrests

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police on Monday signaled their policies in dealing with the "Occupy LA" protesters would be largely unchanged in the wake of dozens of arrests in Riverside County.

KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reports there are tents back in front of City Hall in Riverside on Monday despite the crackdown.

Police had warned the Riverside encampment on Friday that they would have to strike their tents from the City Plaza area, and after one more attempt at moving the group on Sunday afternoon, the clash quickly became violent.

"They told us to move, and we're like, 'We're not going to move," said one activist. "All of a sudden, they grabbed me by my hair, they threw me on the ground, and I looked up and see this officer with a chunk of my hair in his hand."

Officers arrested 11 people primarily for resisting arrest or delaying functions of police officers.

9 tents were removed after the arrests, but 8 were seen back up on Monday morning.

Their "Occupy" counterparts in downtown Los Angeles remain encamped outside City Hall with no indication that police or city officials plan to ask them to leave any time soon.
