High Winds Knock Out Power To Thousands In SoCal

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — An estimated 12,000 customers were without electricity on Wednesday after strong Santa Ana winds downed power lines around the Southland.

Outages have been reported in Los Angeles and Orange counties, primarily centered in Calabasas, Lancaster and Brea, said Southern California Edison spokesman Charlie Coleman.

People should avoid getting near any downed lines as crews work to restore service, he said.
