McDonald Suspended By Pac-12 For Hit, Kiffin Fined $10K

(CBS) -- The Pac-12 has fined USC's Lane Kiffin $10,000 for his comments  following the Trojans triple overtime loss to Stanford on Saturday night.

Kiffin was fuming because a timeout wasn't granted to USC with one second left showing on the clock when WR Robert Woods' knee went down in bounds in the fourth quarter.

Kiffin claims he told the official to call a timeout if any time was time left on the clock and that the official assured him the timeout would be granted if it was determined that there was time left on the clock after the official review.

Kiffin said, "he was basically lied to".

The conference also suspended safety TJ McDonald for the first half of Friday nights tilt against Colorado for his high hit against Stanford. Kiffin on the suspension, "we respectfully disagree with the suspension imposed.. he made a bang-bang play"
