Officials Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting In Downey
DOWNEY (CBS) — Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place near Firestone Boulevard and Ryerson Avenue overnight.
The shooting took place at 11 p.m. Tuesday when a Downey police officer was conducting an operation.
An alleged gunman, who was believed to be barricaded inside a condominium complex, was taken into custody early Wednesday morning.
Residents of the complex were allowed back into their homes after they were forced to evacuate.
The officer was not injured, but Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies are now investigating.
