LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Gilani Taylor, the 27-year-old mom and aspiring singer who was involved in a fiery crash on the 101 on October 1 that claimed the life of her 9-year-old daughter, has also succumbed to her injuries, according to family.

Taylor was driving in Calabasas on the southbound 101 about 8:30 a.m. when she lost control of her 1995 Chrysler.

The car reportedly crashed into the center divider, hit a tanker truck, overturned and then burst into flames.

Good Samaritans were able to pull Taylor out of the vehicle but she was burned over 80 percent of her body.

She reportedly died 5:25 p.m. Friday at County-USC Medical Center.

Taylor's 9-year-old, Jayla, was trapped in the vehicle and was declared dead at the scene.
