Man, 25, Accused Of Committing Lewd Act On Boy, 11, In Mall Bathroom
SAN FERNANDO (CBS) — A 25-year-old Saugus man is accused of committing a lewd act on an 11-year-old boy in a restroom at the Westfield Valencia Town Center Monday.
Casey Flynn Crockett allegedly committed the crime about 4 p.m. in a food court restroom in the 24200 block of Valencia Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
When Crockett and the boy left the restroom, the father confronted the suspect and a fight ensued. Crockett then ran toward the Transit Center across the street, according to sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker.
Crockett surrendered to authorities at the sheriff's Santa Clarita station Tuesday.
Prosecutors will ask that Crockett's bail be set at $1 million. If convicted as charged, he faces up to eight years in prison and would have to register as a sex offender, according to the District Attorney's Office.
