2 Thirtysomething Brothers Accused Of Molesting Neighbor Girls, 7 And 3

SANTA ANA (CBS) — Two thirtysomething brothers are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on charges of molesting two neighbor girls, 3 and 7 years old, in Fullerton.

Cristobal Ortiz Rodriguez, 35, and his 33-year-old sibling, Eduardo Ortiz Rodriguez, are accused of taking turns molesting the children and at other times sexually assaulting the girls on their own, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Between May 2010 and August of this year, the two are accused of having a variety of sexual contacts with the girls, including showing pornographic images to them. The brothers live in a converted garage in a Fullerton home, and the girls live nearby, authorities said.

The brothers are accused of using candy and ice cream to lure the girls and encourage them not to tell anyone, according to prosecutors.

One of the youngsters told a family member in late August about the alleged sexual assaults, prosecutors said, and the brothers were arrested on Aug. 26.

The defendants are each charged with two felony counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child younger than 10 and six felony counts of lewd acts on a child younger than 14, and they also face sentence-enhancing allegations of committing a sex crime against more than one victim.

They each face up to 120 years to life in prison if convicted and are being held on $1 million bail.
