Riverside Man, 55, Held For Attempted Murder, Numerous Sex Offenses

RIVERSIDE (CBS) — Deputies have arrested a man they accuse of holding a woman for several days, sexually assaulting her numerous times and, at one point, attempting to kill her, the sheriff's department said Saturday.

Kenneth Earl Castle, 55, was arrested Friday and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

He's being held for suspicion of attempted murder and numerous sex offenses, a sheriff's spokesman said.

Deputies responded to a call at 2:26 p.m. Friday about an assault in the Santa Ana River bottom near Market Street, where they found an adult female who said she had been held against her will and sexually assaulted numerous times by Castle over several days, the spokesman said.

The woman said Castle tried to strangle her on one occasion, according to the spokesman.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to call Investigator Rice at the Jurupa Valley Station 951-955-2600.
