Ex-LA Sheriff's Sergeant Convicted Of Sex Assault

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jurors have convicted a former Los Angeles County sheriff's sergeant of sexually assaulting a woman and inappropriately searching two others.

The district attorney's office said Friday that Mark Fitzpatrick was convicted of six sexually related counts and three counts of false imprisonment by violence.

He was remanded to custody and faces up to 14 years in state prison.

Fitzpatrick worked out of the Compton station. The charges stemmed from three traffic stops in 2008.
