Authorities Need Public's Help To Gather Info About Body Found In Flood Channel

BANNING (CBS) — Authorities sought the public's help Thursday in gathering information about a man found dead in a flood control channel.

The Banning Police Department received a report of a body at the bottom of the channel in the 600 block of West Lincoln Street around noon Wednesday,

Sgt. Alex Diaz said. It was unclear how and when the man died, and the coroner's office has not yet released his name.

Banning police, the coroner's and district attorney's offices and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's forensic unit are investigating the death.
