Final Phase Of Jury Selection Begins In Conrad Murray Trial

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The final phase of jury selection in the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, is set to start Friday.

Both the prosecution and defense attorneys will interview 145 prospective jurors. The 12-member jury and six alternates will be selected Friday or Monday, with opening arguments slated for Tuesday.

The attorneys will only have one minute to interview each potential juror, all of whom have already filled out an extensive questionnaire. Jurors will not be sequestered after they are selected.

Murray, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, could get up to four years in prison if convicted.

The Los Angeles  County Coroner's officer ruled that Jackson died of a propofol overdose in June of 2009.

Prosecutors accuse Murray of administering the drug to help Michael Jackson sleep.

The trial is expected to last five to six weeks.
