Fire Near Agua Dulce Movie Ranch Reportedly Grows To 600 Acres

UPDATE (3:30 p.m.): Officials report the fire has been 20 percent contained. According to LA County Fire, 300 firefighters are battling the blaze.

UPDATE (5:15 p.m.): The fire is now 50 percent contained. Full containment is expected tomorrow by 6 p.m.

AGUA DULCE (CBS) — A brush fire burning in Agua Dulce has reportedly grown to nearly 600 acres, a public information officer with the Angeles National Forest confirmed.

The blaze, dubbed the Mint Fire, was initially classified as a first alarm assignment. It was burning near Petersen Road and Mint Canyon Drive, close to Agua Dulce Movie Ranch.

A tweet by Cal Fire indicated that they were being called in to assist in the fire fight, along with Los Angeles County Fire, which estimated the blaze to be at nearly 1,000 acres.

In addition, crews have requested five aircraft, 15 additional engines and a dozier.

The fire was burning through medium to light brush, according to authorities who were trying to keep it from reaching Bouquet Canyon Road.

No structures were believed to be threatened.
