OC Man Out On Bail After Allegedly Assaulting Neighbor With Flashlight

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (CBS/AP) — Authorities say 45-year-old Peter Quill of San Juan Capistrano was released on bail Friday after being arrested for allegedly beating his neighbor with a flashlight during an altercation over noise made by the neighbor's generator.

Quill had been booked at the Men's Central Jail on $25,000 bail.

The fight erupted during the massive blackout Thursday evening that extended from South Orange County to parts of Arizona and Mexico.

Quill attempted to turn off the generator after his neighbor refused to switch it off himself, according to Jim Amormino, Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesperson.

The neighbor, Anthony Morales, was allegedly attacked when he approached Quill.

Morales  later received treatment at a hospital for lacerations and a possible concussion. Neighbors say he is a Los Angeles firefighter.
