'80s Brat Pack Star Anthony Michael Hall Arrested For Allegedly Threatening Neighbor

PLAYA DEL REY (CBS) — Anthony Michael Hall, known as a member of the '80s "Brat Pack", was arrested at his Playa Del Rey condo after a neighbor claims the actor threatened to "beat him to a pulp".

The actor, who used to play a beloved skinny geek in films such as the '80s classics "The Breakfast Club" and "Sixteen Candles", transformed his body and career over the years.

Now neighbors say Hall has changed his image to the neighborhood bully.

On Saturday, neighbors say Hall started banging on a neighbor's door for complaining about his loud music, threatening he'd beat him "to a pulp".

"Anyone wanting to have a fight, or ensue a fight with a neighbor, over nothing just because you're drunk and then banging on someone's door and trying to get in to beat up somebody else is just not called for," said one neighbor, who only wanted to be identified as Tracy.

A handful of residents at the condominium complex say they fear for their safety because the actor is full of rage. He's allegedly shown erratic, aggressive behavior over the past few months.

"They have children and stuff here too and there's no place for that kind of behavior," Tracy said.

The 43-year-old actor was arrested and charged on a misdemeanor for a citizen's arrest alleging assault. Hall was released on $500 bail, police reported.

"I've always found him to be an affable, warm guy -- a really friendly guy," said Bob Hughes, who's known the actor for about 10 years.

Hall could not be reached for comment.
