Hemet Man, 21, Arrested As Murder Suspect In Killing Of Wyoming Man

HEMET (CBS) — A 21-year-old Hemet man was arrested as the suspect in the shooting death of a Wyoming man, a Riverside County Sheriff's Department sergeant said Sunday.

Jordon Cooper was arrested Saturday in connection with the death of 23-year-old Humberto Alarcon, of Wyoming, said Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Reno.

The shooting occurred at 8:50 p.m. in the 41100 block of Sunset Lane, in the unincorporated area of Hemet, Reno said.

"Deputies arrived at the location and located a Hispanic male adult suffering for gunshot wounds," he said. "The gunshot victim was transported via ambulance to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased."

Cooper is currently being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in lieu of $1 million bail, jail records show.

Investigators asked anyone with information regarding this incident to call Investigator Ed Baeza of the Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit at (951) 955-2777 or Investigator John Juarez of the Sheriff's Hemet Station at (951) 791-3400.
