Campaign Treasurer Linked To Many High Profile Dems Arrested For Alleged Mail Fraud

SACRAMENTO (CBS) — A Democratic campaign treasurer linked to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein was arrested on suspicion of mail fraud, according to published reports.

FBI officials arrested Kinde Durkee Friday in connection with her position as a campaign treasurer, the Orange County Register reported.

State Sen. Lou Correa told the publication he received a call from FBI officials late Friday night informing him Durkee had been arrested and he was likely a victim along with "many, many other victims."

Correa said he believed he lost "hundreds of thousands of dollars" in campaign funds.

According to Federal Election Commission records, Durkee currently is the treasurer for Feinstein and Rep. Loretta Sanchez, the Register reported. She also serves as treasurer for at least 115 state-level committees, including campaign accounts for state Assemblyman Jose Solorio, Assemblymen Gilbert Cedillo and Roger Hernandez, State Sen. Ted Lieu and Curren Price, along with Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Krekorian, the Register reported.
