Deputies: CSU Professor Lived Double Life As Meth-Dealing Biker Gang Leader

SAN BERNARDINO (CBS) — Authorities on Friday are searching for an Inland Empire man they say is leading a double-life: a Cal State San Bernardino professor by day and motorcycle-riding methamphetamine dealer by night who is now wanted on drug charges.

Steve Kinzey, 45, has been on the lam for a week following an undercover operation that busted a suspected methamphetamine drug ring.

Deputies arrested 9 people in connection to the raid.

Kinzey, of Highland, worked as an associate professor of kinesiology at Cal Sate.

"We're shocked," said one of Kinzey's neighbors. "The whole neighborhood's shocked."

"He is believed to be the main suspect in this trafficking ring," said Deputy Cindy Bachman of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dept.

In addition to his role in the drug ring, Kinzey is reportedly also the president of the "Devil's Disciples" outlaw motorcycle gang.

Investigators said Kinzey was not home during a raid on his residence last Friday, but agents found up to one pound of methamphetamine with a street value of up to $12,000.

Guns and motorcycle gang paraphenalia were also found in the home that Kinzey has reportedly lived in for the past 12 years.

Neighbors who said they haven't seen Kinzey in some time are still reeling from the discovery.

"He seemed like a nice guy," one woman said. "His lawn is impeccable."
