Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (September 1)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — After a nice cool Wednesday, things will start warming up as we make our way into the holiday weekend.

The high pressure will gradually strengthen and squash out the marine layer.

For Thursday, look for some low clouds clearing out hazy sunshine with temperatures still slightly below average.

Look for hot temperatures inland Saturday and slightly cooler weather on Sunday.

There is a wave of moisture that will move through the area on Sunday. Those clouds may hinder some daytime heating.

By Monday, it could get quite hot as the high moves closer to California.

Coastal - upper 70s
Basin -mid 80s
Valleys - mid 90s
Mountains - upper 70s
Deserts - mid to upper 90s
