Police Talking To SoCal Man As 'Person Of Interest' In Beating Death Of 100-Year-Old Fresno County Man

SANGER (AP) — Police are talking to a Southern California man they're terming a "person of interest" in the beating death of a 100-year-old Fresno County man.

The Fresno Bee reports that Sanger police detectives were interviewing the man after his arrest by Torrance police on Thursday.

The man, who has not been named, was arrested on a number of warrants.

Police say the man is not considered a suspect, but it's believed he was in Sanger at the time Joseph Fischer was attacked in his apartment at a senior living center on Aug 8.

Fischer was hospitalized with broken ribs, a punctured lung and multiple cuts and bruises. He died in a hospital on Aug. 11.

Fischer told police and a friend that he was attacked by someone he let inside his apartment.
